Psalm 106:8     Yet he saved them for his name’s sake that he might make known his mighty power.

This chapter in Psalms talks about all the times that God would rescue the Israelites and how they would forget all He had done for them and they would sin against God and repent and He would rescue them again.  We often look at the Israelites and we can’t understand how God could do so much for them and yet they kept turning to other gods but how often do we do the same type of thing?

How often do you allow something else take first place in your life over God?  Do you forget the things He has done in your past to bring you blessing and victory?  Do some days seem overwhelming to the point where you get irritated with God because you feel as though He isn’t there?  Does that thing you struggle with seem overwhelming to you because you are trying to have victory all by yourself or you have been looking to someone or something other than God for your help?

God kept forgiving the Israelites and He would bring them back into His graces and they lived under the law – we live under grace and we still sometimes allow Satan to whisper lies pushing us to believe that we are too far gone for God to want to help us anymore.  God loves you beyond measure and He wants to intervene and remind you of who He is and show you His mighty power in your life!  You have to choose it!

Take the time today to remind yourself of the things God has done in your life and the lives of others.  Take some time and read of victories in the Bible, you can even start with Psalm 106 if you are unsure of where to look.  God loves to show His mighty power in the lives of His people – why not start with you?

Some victories take time that is why I have chosen this quote for the day from Joel Osteen:  “Receive His strength for today, and when you reach tomorrow.  He’ll be ready to give you a whole new day’s worth of strength and grace.”
