Matthew 6:27-19  Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?  “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;  and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Where is God when He is silent?  Has He forgotten about us or moved on to something more important?  Is He just sitting back watching but not really caring?

Bill and I have gone through quite a difficult time and have truly prayed and sought God on everything and still there is silence.  BUT, one thing I know to be true and hold onto in times like this is the fact that God Loves us and He loves this ministry and He does care AND when God is silent, He is still working on the situation, whatever it may be.  Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t make the stress go away, I am still working on the idea of totally letting go and trusting that it will all come out ok.  The silly thing about that is that all my worrying doesn’t change the fact I cannot do anything to change things and I still have to wait for God to move.

It is sort of like one of our granddaughters who is very attached to me; when she is having a rough day and is at our house it is not uncommon for her to get upset when I am out of her sight.  I have found her just sobbing because I had stepped out of the kitchen into the laundry room for something and she noticed I wasn’t there.  Since I couldn’t hear her calling me over our noisy dryer she thought my silence meant I had left her.  I hadn’t left and I certainly still cared but my minute in the laundry room seemed like an eternity to her!  God’s minute to me sometimes feels like forever!

I have a Godly Mentor lady in my life and when I talked to her yesterday she reminded me that God’s timing is not always ours but that doesn’t mean He isn’t there and isn’t working things out.

Trust Him to be there!  If God cares about the lilies of the field or the Sparrow, He certainly cares more about you!  There is a song I use to sing in church years ago called “Consider the Lilies” and one line goes like this:  “He really cares when your head is bowed low, consider the Lilies and then you will know”!  If God seems silent to you or someone you know, consider these truths and allow them to help you get through to the other side!
