Hebrews 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Prayer is that incredible gift we have been given that allows us to communicate with God Almighty, our creator, our Savior; The Lord of the entire Universe and the list of whom and what He is could go on and on!  What a great gift we have been given and sometimes we take it for granted or we don’t take it seriously and we don’t pray as much as we should.

We need to go to God like a small child comes to us.  Our grandchildren don’t even hesitate for a second to tell me when they want or need something because they know they are loved and they understand that we want what is best for them, we are no better than God, as the verse states in Matthew 7:11 “If you then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him.”  Now there are times when we have to say no because that is what is best and we don’t always get the best response back but it doesn’t change our answer no matter how they may plead their case, for example; the other night, Abby our 5 year old granddaughter spent the night and after her bath, brushing her teeth her Bible story, a half a glass of juice and a prayer and kiss goodnight, she asked for more juice.  Well, I have seen that song and dance before so I told her no, she had enough and she could have more in the morning.  Then came the pleading and reasons for needing it but her words were, “well Mimi, I am thirsty and you don’t want my skin to dry up and my face to get all wrinkly uhm, like yours!’ Hmmmm, somehow that didn’t work either.  I had to laugh, as I am sure God does with me sometimes and my pleading, hopefully I don’t insult him in my pleading, but He still has to say “no”.  We don’t always know what is best for us in fact sometimes God has a better plan than anything we could think of so we need to trust and wait patiently.

So ladies, go boldly today, remember to pray and communicate with God about every little thing.  He cares about it all and He wants to spend time with you today.  Go boldly and seek His mercy and grace, He loves you more than you can comprehend.  The important thing is to take the time to read God’s word and to spend time with Him in prayer, it is you who misses out when you neglect that time with Him and He so desperately wants to hang with you and bless you!
