Proverbs 31:13-19

She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.  She is like the merchants ships, bringing her food from afar.  She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls.  She considers a field and buys it; she considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.  She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.  She sees that her trading is profitable and her lamp does not go out at night.  In her hands she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

Ok, so here she sounds like wonder woman I know, but remember this is the King’s Mom talking to him about a good wife.  They have money, a lot of money and she is just keeping things in order in their household and running things in a profitable way.  She is a hard worker and she is doing the best she can and being creative with what she has to work with.  Not all of us have her resources but we can keep the house clean and find bargains when we need to or cut coupons.

But on another note, one of the most encouraging things I see in these verses is that whether or not you are single or married or have a boyfriend isn’t the key to these verses.  The key is that you can do what needs to be done for your life because your abilities and talents are from the Lord!  God has equipped you to be able to do whatever He has called you to do and that is the proof, that was what she was called to do in her life.  All those things might not be part of your responsibility in life so what is?  God has given us all something to do and every part is important, the point is to do whatever He has called you to do with all of your heart, mind and soul.  He doesn’t expect you to be some sort of super human He just simply wants His perfect will for your life so you can have the best life possible!
