1 Peter 2:15-16
For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.

Our focus needs to be to live always as true servants of God. Some people use their service to cover up who they really are with no desire to ever change instead of living a life that frees them and those around them from the bondage of sin.

We are called to do what is good and right. We have the Holy Spirit living within us so we have the ability to allow all of the Fruit of the Spirit to just flow from us. We have the choice of whether or not sin will rule and reign in our lives. Oh, we all have our moments and none of us are perfect, God certainly knows I have made more than my share of mistakes, but we have the choice to not live in sin. We have to choose every day who will rule and reign in our lives, God or the influence of Satan.

I can guarantee you this too; when you make the decision to live as someone who is free in Christ, Satan is going to try to hold you back by using other people and even your own thoughts about your past to make you feel defeated! Freedom in Christ is yours for the taking! Jesus died on the cross for your sin and when it is forgiven it is under the blood and to God it no longer matters. He can use your broken past to serve Him if you allow Him to! There are times when you need to confess and make things right with those around you that you have sinned against but then you need to move forward, whether or not they choose to move forward with you!

I love this old Indian legend, it describes this well:
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – inside every other person too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

It is your choice to live and serve God in His light and truth as a true servant of God today! Don’t live a lie! Give your all to Him and allow Him to do the work in your heart to make you all He created you to be! Feed the right “wolf” today. Whatever you have done in your past is in your past, do not allow anyone to hold you back from all that you are called to be, make things right and move forward. Don’t buy Satan’s lies of worthlessness for something that is under the blood. Choose to be all you are called to be live as a true servant of God! The best is yet to come!

Quote:
“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
