No More Guilt

Psalm 103:12
As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

Have you ever noticed how much easier it is at times to forgive someone else for what they have done than to forgive yourself? It is as important to forgive yourself after you have confessed your sins to God as it is for you to forgive others. As long as you hold on to the guilt, you remain bound to that sin. Satan wants to keep you there so you won’t feel as though you can be used by God. God hasn’t asked you to feel that way! He wants you to glory in the fact that Jesus loved you enough to die for that sin and once you have confessed it and turned from it you are called by God to move forward.
I love the song by Casting Crown’s, “East to West” especially the lyrics that say, “Jesus can you show me just how far the east is from the west…….. one scarred hand to the other.” God’s attitude toward your sin is the same as it was with the woman caught in the act of adultery, in John chapter 8, “go and sin no more!” Once you have been forgiven, move forward, walk away from that sin and don’t do it again.

Healing from your own mistakes can often also be more difficult than healing from someone else’s. Sometimes we hold ourselves to a higher standard, and there’s nothing wrong with that until you can’t allow yourself to move forward after you mess up! Don’t hand that victory over to Satan, don’t buy the lies you are no longer worthy to be used by God! That is a lie straight from Hell! 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” It doesn’t say there that you have to wallow in guilt for a time, He wants to cleanse you from any unrighteousness and set you back on your feet to be used by Him. Ask Him to heal your heart and to cleanse your heart, mind and soul, times a wasting, it is time to move forward and to be better for all that He has forgiven you for. Instead of allowing your mistakes keep you from being all you can be for Him, take all that He has loved you enough to have forgiven you for and love Him more and serve Him better! Whatever you have done, give it to Him, let it go and focus on all that He has called you to do from this day forward! He loves you and He has a plan! (Memorize Jeremiah 29:11) When God forgives you in order to move forward in victory you must begin by forgiving yourself!

Satan would love to hold you back by rubbing your mistakes in your face. Today you have a choice, you can let Satan do that or you can accept the forgiveness that God has given you and allow God to take that mistake and use it to help others and further His cause! Which one will it be? I would encourage you to listen to Mercy Me’s song, “Flawless” today to remind yourself that the Cross Has made you Flawless! Allow God’s grace to fill you with all the hope of all that He wants to use you for in the future! He hasn’t given up on you and His plan for you so pull yourself up and get excited for all that He plans to use you for! He will take all of those scars and all of that heartache and use it for His glory if you will just give it to Him today! The best is truly yet to come!
