Oooops ~ I Fell

James 1:14-15
But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

Did you really fall or did you walk there? “Falling into sin” has become a familiar term throughout the church, but according to these verses in James we don’t “fall” we walk there. We walk there when we allow thoughts to take root and grow into a sinful reality. We are told in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,” It is our responsibility to take charge over our thoughts and to stop them from becoming sinful actions.

God has called us to walk with Him and to be Holy because He is Holy and we are His children. It is our responsibility to walk in honor and glorify Him by living out the fact that we were created in His image! God created us to have a relationship with us and for us to glorify Him in all that we do. He will give you all that you need to win the battle over any struggle you are facing today and He has given you the Holy Spirit if you have accepted Him as your personal Lord and Savior so you are equipped to live a godly life because He lives within you. Victory is already yours, it is just a matter of giving it all to Him and allowing Him to guide you.

I know this is a short devotion today, but I would like to just encourage each of us to truly walk with God in every area of our lives. Ask Him today to show you any areas you may be holding back from Him and His leading. If you are struggling with thoughts or a particular sin ask Him to create a clean heart and a right spirit in you so you can be the godly woman He has created and called you to be! The best is yet to come!

I think it hard for people to truly put their trust in god; as for me I still think that sometimes I put my trust in god and then I look at the troubling sea in my world and then I start to get worried but I read god’s word and then I put my trust in him then again look at the troubling sea then it starts all over again.
