Pursue Him!

Jeremiah 29:13  “And you shall seek me and find me when you shall search for me with all your heart.”

How many of you ladies would love to have the man in your life “know” you.  When your birthday, Valentines Day or Christmas rolls around you just know that any gift from him on any occasion will be just what you wanted.  A man that takes the time to know every little detail about you to the point of being able to do things for you that are beyond what he finds “normal” but does it because he knows that it is you!  As a woman we tend to feel more loved the more a man will pour into knowing what makes us “tick” because to us that shows he cares.

I had a fiancé’ years ago, obviously I didn’t marry him, that would always forget to shop for any special day; Valentine’s Day, my birthday etc. and it really frustrated me because I knew there was no real thought process in what I was getting.  “This card says Happy Valentines Day that will work” and the words would be from a woman to a man on the inside.  And then one day when he left work he remembered that he needed to get me something for my birthday so he stopped off at the Hallmark store on his way home, well that doesn’t sound too bad but when I opened it I had to ask if he had any clue what it was because I couldn’t figure it out.  I felt bad to have to ask and I still thanked him for it but the strange contraption he found was so out of the ordinary for me I never did figure out what it was for.  I know, I know, it is the thought that counts but that is my point sometimes there just isn’t any thought.

God feels the same way!  He doesn’t want to be half heartedly pursued!  He says we will find Him when we decide to put some effort into searching for Him, getting to know Him with all our heart.  He wants to be the first thought and the last thought of the day.  He wants us to know Him to the point of being able to do things for Him that are out of our comfort zone. He doesn’t want some half hearted effort like we are just tossing Him a bone to pacify Him pretending to care in the hopes of receiving His blessing on our lives.

Pursue Him today, love Him and seek Him with all your heart!  Ask Him to reveal more of who He is to you so you can know Him better.  Don’t settle for where your relationship is with Him today; spend your life getting to know Him better.
