Remember God Brings the Victory and Mountaintop Experiences

Deuteronomy 8:17-18   Beware lest you say in your heart, “My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.”  You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who give you the power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers as it is this day.

God warned the Israelites over and over just before they went into the Promised Land to not forget where they came from and what all He had done for them once He gave them all of that land and the goodness of the land.  He knew that we are often quick to forget and He didn’t want them to think even for a moment that they didn’t need Him because He knew what a snare that would be to their nation.

It is easy when we are on the mountain top experience to coast and forget just how much we need Him compared to when we are in the valley of life and we are constantly pouring our hearts out to Him begging Him to bless us and deliver us.  God still wants that close relationship and constant conversation between you and Him when things are going great and He has blessed you.  He wants you to remind your children of where you came from and to remind them that all of the good in your life came from Him.  It is important to still draw close to God when He is blessing your life because there are no blessings on earth that can compare to having a close walk and relationship with Him.  I can only imagine the void that Adam and Even must have felt when they were removed from the garden of Eden and they no longer had the opportunity to walk through the garden with God chatting and laughing and enjoying life.  God has created a place in your heart that only He can fill so you will still need Him no matter where you are in life!

I would encourage you today no matter where you are in life; whether you are in the valley or on your way out of your valley or on the mountain top, Don’t forget your walk with God today.  Keep your relationship with God your number one priority.  Spend each and every day seeking Him and a closer walk with Him, don’t let Him take second place to anything or anyone!  The key to happiness and fulfillment in your life is to keep God first and to have a wonderfully close relationship with Him ~ nothing else can compare to that!
