Renewing Your Mind To Get A Fresh Perspective

by | Nov 11, 2014

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Are you struggling making decisions or figuring out the will of God today? Are you maybe struggling with an addiction or maybe a sinful nature you thought was in your past and it is all of a sudden haunting you again and tempting you?

Being transformed is a daily choice. We must continually renew our minds with the things of God because we are bombarded constantly with worldly concepts and ideas tempting us to just relax instead of standing firm in our beliefs.

How can you renew your mind in the midst of everything that surrounds you trying to draw you away? Spend time in God’s word of course, choose to take the next 30 days and only listen to Christian music, that may seem trivial but sitting around listening to sad songs when you are already down or songs that make you want to go out and party don’t contribute to renewing your mind. Acts of kindness are a great way to renew your mind as well.

One way you can renew your mind and help your family in that direction as well during the holiday season is to spend some time focusing on how you can bless someone else. Find someone you can bless, focus on others instead of yourselves. It is a great lesson for kids. Abby has been begging me to pick up an Angel off the tree at the grocery store so she can pick out some things for a child in need and we will be doing that this week. There are many things you can do if you take a look around.

Don’t allow Satan to have victory today, fight off his lies and hold on to truth found only in what God has to say about you and your situation!

Let me leave you with this verse for today: Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
