Stop Putting It Off ~ Start Today

1 Corinthians 6:19
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

So then…… you are not your own, you were bought by the price of Jesus shed blood on the cross and God gave you His Holy Spirit to dwell within you, to guide you, give you peace, strength, grace, mercy and victory in your life. How well are you taking care of the place He has to live in? If you don’t take care of it, who will? You must take care of yourself, no one else is going to and you must start today!

I can only imagine what God thinks as He looks on while people miss out on some of His blessings and His will for them just because they refuse to take care of themselves! We have gotten into a bad habit of doing what is convenient versus what is right. We get so busy we find ourselves eating pizza or running through fast food restaurants to feed ourselves and or our families! If we would do that once in a blue moon it wouldn’t be as big a deal, but it has become the “norm” in America and people are dying early because of it! It takes effort to eat right, it also takes effort to just make sure you have the “down time” you need in order to be healthy.

God has really convicted me that I am not in the Physical shape I should be in lately. I signed Bill and I up for a program that we will start so we can get back on track health wise and get back in shape. Let’s face it, it takes energy to be able to do all you are called to do. I want to be in the best shape possible in order to fulfill the will of God in my life! It won’t necessarily be easy because we have ignored it for a few years, but we will feel so much better on the other side and that is the goal. Nothing good is usually easy or instant but it is worth it in the end if it enables you to be better used by God.

I would like to encourage you today to get started, even if it is in a small way; maybe you need to stop drinking soda (or pop, or coke ~ whatever you may call it) or maybe you could begin a walking program (I know of a great one that my friend Wendie Pett does that you could join for accountability and encouragement), maybe you just need to start drinking more water (take your weight and divide it in half and that’s how many oz..of water you should drink i.e.. 120 pounds = 60 oz of water a day). Find something and just begin by making one better choice, one day at time. Let’s all encourage each other to be all we can be for Him and let’s not waste one more day. The best is yet to come but some of it is going to take some work to get there!
