The Path Is Clear

Deuteronomy 6:6-7,  These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

This is not some old fashioned suggestion, it is a command from God.  If we want to live lives that will honor God, if we want true success, if we want children who will grow up knowing God and the will of God for their lives then this is how it is done.  God has laid out a clear direction and His commands are where we must begin.  They are our roadmap to success in this life.

God loves us and wants His best for us while satan is out to steal, kill and destroy so whose plan would you rather follow?  The world will tell you that there aren’t any absolutes, no real right or wrong and that is a lie!  The Bible is very clear about what is right and wrong and that is what we need to base our decisions on for our lives.

If you notice the first two commandments are all about love:  Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, soul, and mind and your neighbor as yourself.  If we love right then the rest will be easier to follow.  When we grasp God’s mercy, grace and love for us it should motivate us to love Him and serve Him more.  It should motivate us to live lives that are pleasing to Him so others will be drawn to Him as well.

God’s word is so full of who He is and His direction for our lives, it would be a shame to not be sharing it all with your children!  Take the time to spend time in His word and to read it with your children.  There are some great books out there with Bible stories that you can read to them at bedtime to get the ball rolling.  Instill in them a desire to learn about Him.  You must be intentional in teaching them or the world will!

God’s favor and blessing can only be found in Him.  The answers you are looking for in life can only be found in Him if you truly want success.  Give everything to Him and ask Him for His direction and then spend some time alone with Him in prayer and in His Word.  Don’t hold anything back!  Pursue Him with all your heart!  Truly His best is yet to come!
