The View In The Valleys of Life Can Be Beautiful Too, If You Are Walking With Him

1 Kings 20:28b
Thus says the Lord, “Because the Syrians have said, ‘The Lord is a god of the hills but he is not a god of the valleys,’ therefore I will give all this great multitude into your hand and you shall know that I am the Lord.”

If all we had in life were ‘mountaintop’ experiences in life it would be easy to forget who put us there. No matter where you are today, God is the god of all and He cares, He cares if you are on a mountaintop, coasting along and He cares if you are in the valleys of life, frustrated and struggling. No matter what season of life we are in we need to always draw close to Him.

Let’s face it we seem to grow stronger and depend more on God when we are in the valleys of life, but let me encourage you today that if you are experiencing that season of rest and mountaintops, take a look around you and ask God what you need to learn in order to grow there as well. There are so many lessons to learn no matter where we are in life so we can become more like Christ! Maybe this is a time for you to reach out and serve others, maybe it is a time where He would like you to learn more about giving of yourself, your finances and time. There are so many needy and hurting people out there that you will never run out of opportunities to show the love of Christ to someone.

If you are in the valley struggling to get by in your marriage or finances or you have a loved one that you are praying for or maybe you are grieving a tremendous loss in your life, God has kept track of every tear, He loves you and He cares more than you can imagine! When you hurt, God’s heart aches for you as well. We live in a fallen world so bad things happen to all people. We have been given a free will and not everyone chooses wisely and others suffer because of it. We live in a world of illness and struggles but we serve a God who sees the bigger picture and He loves you and cares about exactly where you are. Matthew 7:7-10 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (Read Matthew chapters 6 &7 and understand as well, this is not prosperity thinking ~ people are way to paranoid about that at times, we are talking about a God who loves you and cares about your needs)

Seek God in all you do and draw close to Him no matter where you are! He loves you and desires a closer relationship with you. Unfortunately sometimes it takes the valleys in life to wake us up to what we are missing in our walk with Him. Remember to ask Him, no matter where you are in life today, what you need to do to be more like Christ and what you may be missing on your part that has brought you to the place you are. There are times the valleys we experience are there because of the detour we took by not following Him, some are there because this is life but either way He cares and wants to see you through to the other side if you will just seek Him with your whole heart!
