Today Could Be Your “After This” Day!

John 11: 5-7
Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, when he heard that Lazarus was ill he stayed two days longer in the place where he was. Then after this he said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.”

These verses could be a little confusing if you didn’t read the verses before it where Jesus said, “this illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” Jesus is so compassionate it was better for Him to wait to go to Mary, Martha and Lazarus because Lazarus had to die in order for the miracles God had in mind to take place so God would be glorified!”

Are you feeling as though God isn’t there? Have you felt like you are on your own and no one is listening to your desperate prayers? Pray and believe for all that God has promised to come to pass. If you are seeking Him and looking for His leading then God will show Himself mighty in your life! I am sure Mary and Martha thought that Jesus was probably too busy or taking care of more important things and that is why He wasn’t making it to their house to ‘heal’ Lazarus, but that wasn’t the case at all! They were looking for a “healing” and God was looking for a “resurrection” !

Martha and Mary both said, “Lord, if you had been here….”, have you felt that way before or maybe even now? Have you felt like saying that to God? You believed for the answer and yet nothing happened and now everything seems to be falling apart. God is saying just like He did to Mary and Martha, “If you believe, you will see the glory of God!” Notice in verse 7 it says, “Then after this……” Maybe today is your “after this” day! God often allows things in our lives to grow us into all we can be for Him and there are times we have to see what seems to be the worst of things so our faith will grow into all it needs to be, in their case they needed to see a resurrection. Maybe you need a resurrection in your marriage, a relationship with your child, in your beliefs in yourself, in your finances…… whatever resurrection you may possibly, you need to trust Him and believe that He can use it all for His glory! He is your answer today and the best is yet to come!
