Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Do you ever wake up in the morning feeling unsettled and maybe just a little “yuk” because of something from the day before; you should have done this, or you shouldn’t have done or said that, you had a list and didn’t even come close to getting what you had on there done. You woke up and right off the bat, you feel somehow inadequate and defeated! And then, just like this morning for me, you have someone show up 2 hours early for an appointment and you just wonder if you will ever get it together; why wasn’t the kitchen cleaned perfectly last night? After all I knew he would be coming today to measure the counters and my day was scheduled pretty tight ~ what is wrong with me?

Let it go! Give yourself a break! No, you are not perfect, but God is and His mercies are new every morning! Sometimes we beat ourselves up over things that are just out of our control or they are such small issues they really don’t matter in the bigger scheme of things. If you can’t change it, let it go! Strive to be all you can be today! You have all of today to do what God is telling you to do! If you spend the day worried about yesterday or something from your past, you will miss out on the opportunity to be all you can be today! Make amends with others and move on! God isn’t looking down on you expecting you to never make a mistake, He loves you and that is why He sent His Son to die for you. He is faithful to forgive and to help you be all you can be for Him today! Don’t let the past, whether it was yesterday or 10-20 years ago get in the way of what you are called to be and do today! The best is yet to come!
