What Are The Desires of Your Heart Today?

Psalm 37:4  “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

What a great verse!  Now before anyone thinks I am driving down prosperity thinking highway I will get straight to the point here: essentially what this verse is saying is that if you learn to delight yourself in the Lord instead of yourself then you will have His desires and He will give you the desires of your heart because they line up with His will for your life!

The key to knowing God’s will for your life is to pour yourself into Him.  Set yourself aside for now and forget about what you want. Pray for a clear mind without any of your wants clouding your thinking and spend as much time with Him as you can, pouring into the Word of God, read books that will help you grow and listen to any speakers you can listen to.  Take Him seriously enough to let yourself go.  You really aren’t as big a deal as you think if He isn’t in what you are doing.  Delight yourself in Him!

When I was younger I remember thinking somehow that sounded boring.  Oh great, my desires will become His and I still won’t get what I want.  Hmmmmmm. Why do we always seem to go there?  Just like Eve we start to buy into the lie that God is trying to keep something good from us and that if we follow Him too closely our lives will become everything we don’t want them to be.  Recognize the lies Ladies because there’s no better place to be than in the will of God because that is where you will find Peace, Happiness, Fulfillment and True Success.

Life is tough enough without doing it on your own.  God wants to guide you and bless you all throughout your life.  Lean on Him today and delight yourself in Him, make Him your focus, spend time with Him and allow Him to show you His plan for your life.  God knows even better than you do what will truly make you happy and fulfill you so let yourself go and follow Him with your whole heart, mind and soul.
