Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

What are you putting off? Procrastination can be one of our biggest enemies if we allow it to be. Is there work you need to do that you are dreading so you put it off, is there a project that needs to be finished, maybe there is a change that you need to make in your personal walk with Christ, whatever it is; just do it!

The longer you wait, the harder it is do it. I read a book on procrastination and it compared putting projects off to eating a frog. One point they made was that if you have to “eat a live frog” the longer you wait the harder it is and if you have to eat more than one, eat the biggest one first. In other words; stop putting it off and take on the worst task first so you can get it done and move forward.

Satan loves to get us to put things off and he loves to encourage our complacency in the situation because it will keep us right where we are in life. There is nothing worse than having some looming task hanging over your head haunting you day after day until you can just wake up in the morning and not even have a clue why you feel miserable but it is just that “thing” that needs to be taken care of and finished that has worked it’s way under your skin so it can annoy you without your even thinking about it.

Start today, make a list of any of the things you know need to be done or addressed and start plugging away at them one by one. Get that ugly one out of the way first and you will feel so much better as you move down the list. The shorter your list gets the better you will feel and that heavy burden you feel sitting on your shoulders will lift and leave you free to move forward accomplishing new and better things.

Quote: “If the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that that is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long.” Mark Twain
