What Are You Wearing?

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt
you in due time.” 1 Peter 5:6

What are you wearing?  I know we as women are conscious of looking nice but when God looks at you what does He see you clothed in?  Are you clothed in
bitterness or haughtiness, anger, rebellion, hurt what does He see?

Clothes fashions come and go, one day you are wearing something and six months later it is out of style.  I remember saying when I was younger that
I would never wear bell bottom jeans again as long as I lived and low and behold that was all you could buy a few years ago once again!  I remember
going through a tough time financially at one point and a friend of mine gave me bags full of clothes thinking she was helping but they were at least
10 years out of style I wouldn’t have wanted to be seen in any of them I felt I would have looked better wearing the same 3 outfits all the time.

The key is to be as careful dressing yourself spiritually as you are the outside.  Clothes cover the outside but it is the inside that really matters.  Let’s allow God to be the one who exalts us in due time instead of fighting and clawing our way to the top of the “list”.  Let’s try on
humility; as a great lady of God, Penny Carlisle says, “Let the humility of Christ be your garment of choice. Those who wear humility will be clothed in
honor. Honor never goes out of style.”

Quote:   “Life is like a game of tennis; the player who serves well seldom loses.”
