Whatcha Thinkin?

Proverbs 23:7.  For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:

What you think about most is very important!  What do you allow your mind to dwell on all the time!  Do you run yourself in the ground or maybe those around you?  Are you consumed with negative thoughts and complaining or are you consumed with being positive and uplifting!  Your words and thoughts speak volumes for what is in your heart!  Matthew 15:19, “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.”

It all comes back to that “garbage in ~ garbage out” saying that we have known since we were kids.  You cannot fill your mind with garbage from t.v., books and the internet and expect to be who God called you to be!  We need to be careful what we are reading and watching!  We need to be really careful if we have children what they are reading and watching!  I am sorry but there are some really raunchy books out there that I have seen Christian men and women reading that are nothing but filth and we have no business filling our minds with that kind of thing!  There are movies that Bill and I have gotten up and walked out of because they were ridiculous.  The sad thing about a lot of that stuff is also that it often makes women feel even worse about their self image or it gives an unrealistic expectation of marriage to both men and women.

We have to start filling our minds with things that are edifying, things that are good.  Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”  There you have it, a nice list straight from scripture of the things that we should be thinking about!  It will do you no good to try to lose weight if you are telling yourself you will never lose the weight or that you are fat!  Change your thoughts and words, give yourself some credit ~ God made you beautiful ~ you’ve got this!

The more time we spend in The Word of God them more our thoughts and words will line up with His!  If you truly want His best for your life, you need to spend time with Him, learn to line up what He has to say about you and what you are facing with what you are thinking and saying!  Being negative will get you nowhere!  Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”  The best is yet to come, but it begins with lining up what you think and say with His Word!
