Where Does Faith Come From

Romans 10:17
So faith comes from hearing and hearing through the Word of God

Have you been up half the night worrying about something lately? You may not think your faith is wavering but if you are that worried about something then trust me, your faith is lacking. I have been there and I have had to lay in bed reminding myself of the verse, Isaiah 26:3, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” That has been a great help to me when I wake up and my mind starts trying to sort something out, trying to fix it in my mind or fret over it until I am wide awake and worthless all day.

It does us no good to waste sleep at night or time during the day worrying over anything. If you have done what you can then you really need to leave the rest to God. At the point where you have done all you can, God will take care of the rest, don’t get in the way with your wavering faith still trying to figure it out. “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:6. Jesus was willing to die on the cross for you, do you think His caring stopped there? Of course not, He loves you and cares about every detail of your life!

Take all that you face to God, both big and small and trust Him to do what is best for your life and the lives of those you love. James 1:6-7 says, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” Do you believe God for what He says in His word? Trust Him with your whole heart to always do what is best. When things don’t turn out quite like you thought, you must still remember and understand that if you knew what He knows you would have asked for what He is doing in your life, even when things get tough.
