Where’s The Love?

by | Feb 14, 2013

John 13:34-35   A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another:  just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.  By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

The love is inside of you and yet if there is one thing we seem to be lacking in the world today it is love.  May sound like a stretch but one of the main reasons people are not attending churches is because they don’t feel welcome.  As we talked about in a ladies Bible study yesterday that I attended; God breathed His life into man when He made him and we are made to love just as He loves us but do we show that love to others.

It is heart breaking to watch as someone hurts either because of a wrong they did or a wrong that was done to them and they are seeking someone to show them the love of God and they can’t find it in the church.  (Obviously there are people who are not repentant when and they don’t want anything to do with anything or anyone from the church when they have walked away from God but that is not the majority.)

There are times I believe we just get too busy and don’t want to be bothered.  Here is the problem with that excuse though; this isn’t a suggestion, this is a command by Jesus!  Jesus took the time for people, he took the time for “sinners”.

If we want the world to see we are different then we need to be different and show the love of Christ to all!  We are not chosen to judge, we are chosen to be examples of who Jesus was while He was on earth!  His goal wasn’t to judge when he was here as it says in Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”  The day of judgment is promised and it will come when we all stand before God but we won’t ever be the ones judging so spread the love!
