“The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.” John 5:15
Who do you give credit and glory to for what you accomplish? Whether it is on the job or at home or the accomplishments of your children, who gets the credit? God gives us our strengths and abilities to accomplish all he puts before us it is important for us to always remember that.
I have seen people who unfortunately at times after great accomplishments forget that they didn’t do it alone. Absolutely everything they say turns into, “I did this and I did that” and “I don’t think this could have been done without me and my insight.” I’m sorry but God has done many great things that could have been done without that person and if we truly want to be used of God to our fullest abilities we need to be sure to honor God with the praise deserved for His accomplishing anything through us. If we aren’t careful, our pride could get in the way of our being used to our fullest ability by God.
A woodpecker once pecked away at a huge tree. The woodpecker was so busy he didn’t notice as a storm rolled in. Threatening clouds gathered. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck the tree and split it from top to bottom. The woodpecker flew off in a flash. Minutes later he returned with several other woodpeckers. Pointing to the tree, he said proudly, “There it is. Look what I did!” Do you know someone like that?
Today let’s honor and praise God with a thankful heart for the privilege of being used by Him to accomplish great things in His name! God is a marvelous God and without Him we would accomplish very little in this life!
