Who Will You Choose to Serve Today?

Joshua 24:15   And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.  But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Do you ever have those days, weeks, months or maybe even years where you just feel as though you are under attack and anything and everything that could go wrong does and as soon as you think it couldn’t possibly get worse one more thing comes along?  When you face those days who is the “god” in your house or do you maybe even live as though there isn’t one?

Life is full of “surprises” some we bring on our selves by making poor choices or rebelling and others just seem to bombard us, just because.  Sometimes is seems as though some people only turn to God when they are in trouble, others get angry with Him and some decide to take all their burdens on themselves and live as though God either doesn’t exist or He just doesn’t care and Satan then has an open door to destroy their homes on other levels as well because of the anger and turmoil that causes.

It is your choice: Who will you choose?  Will you live as though God doesn’t exist?  Will you serve the God of “it’s up to me and or my spouse to ‘fix’ this so I will serve the god of frustration and more work and anger”?  Will you serve the god of “I’m just going to be angry with God because He hasn’t fixed it in my time”?  OR, will you serve and praise the God who does care, is watching and waiting to deliver you?  As I have stated in other Bible studies, sometimes these things are allowed to grow us and mature us to be able to handle situations down the road or to prepare us for what God has next in line for us to do.  Until we handle these “trials” right we can almost expect to go through them again until we mature into someone God can use on a bigger scale.  How can you help others through life, if you cannot handle it yourself?

God does have a plan for you and there’s nothing that shocks Him because He “didn’t see that coming”!  Continue to walk as the godly woman you were called to be, reach out to God and ask Him to give you the strength, resources and wisdom to handle your situation in a way that will bring Him honor and shut the doors to Satan having any more influence in your home!  Choose you this day; who will you serve…… the choice is yours!
