Judges 16:18-21

When Delilah saw that he had told her everything, she sent word to the rulers of the Philistines, “Come back once more; he has told me everything.” So the rulers of the Philistines returned with the silver in their hands. 19 After putting him to sleep on her lap, she called for someone to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him.And his strength left him. Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!” He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the LORD had left him. Then the Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes and took him down to Gaza. Binding him with bronze shackles, they set him to grinding grain in the prison.

Don’t underestimate the influence you have on the men or man in your life! When the Israelites lived next to other nations God told them not to take their daughters for their sons for wives.  Part of the reason for that was because you can see over and over in the Bible where when the men would take women that didn’t believe in God and had other idols they would turn the hearts of the men to worship their gods.

When Eve was in the garden Satan went after her to get her to disobey he didn’t go after Adam and I really believe it wasn’t because she was the weaker “minded” it was because he knew that even against his better judgment Adam would follow because he wouldn’t want to lose her.

In the story of Samson and Delilah, she had tried several times to get Samson to tell her where his strength came from other than the obvious source and he kept lying to her until he finally broke down in the verses above and told her and lost everything because of it.  It isn’t even like Delilah tried to hide why she wanted to know and he still caved in and told her.

Are you helping the man in your life be all God has called him to be?  You may not have any idea what God has in store for both but if you will just be the woman God has called you to be and you allow God to make the changes in your husband that he feels are necessary you just may be amazed at what all God has planned for you!  There may be a lot more in store for you than you can imagine.  Start out by praying every day for him that God will help him to be all He has called him to be!  It is easier to focus on the changes we feel our spouses need to make but if we would all (husbands as well as wives) focused on what God has called to change in us our marriages would be what they are supposed to be.
