Your Attitude is All Yours, Whether it is Good or Bad

1 Peter 1:15-16  “but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’”

Do you have people or situations that just grind you the wrong way some days to the point where you find your attitudes and behaviors turning into devious ideas of revenge because of your overwhelming anger and frustration?  I think there are times we all have people and or situations like that in our lives and how we choose to respond is totally up to us, but it is clear in these verses that God has called us to be holy no matter what we feel like!

You have the power to choose your attitude today, no one can give you one and no one take take yours from you!  You also have the choice to decide what you will dwell on in your thought life so what’s it going to be today?  God has called us to be holy because He is holy, not because we feel holy, not because everything is going our way, not because we are surrounded by wonderful people, but because He is holy!  Hmph!  Well, that makes the decision a little tougher when you are in the mood to just wallow in your anger, complaining and plotting for revenge doesn’t it?  I know, I have been there and I still have those days where I have to start out by asking God to clean my heart, give me His attitude for my day and give me His strength and grace to get through the day without lashing out or choosing the wrong attitudes and behaviors!

Come on ladies, I would encourage everyone to choose this morning to make the right choices when it comes to our attitudes, thoughts (no negative power sucking thoughts today) and behaviors today.  Take one day at a time, pray for God’s wisdom, power, grace and mercy to get through your day.  Ask Him to guard your thoughts and correct your attitudes.  It isn’t easy somedays but you will be glad you did and your day will be so much more productive and peaceful.  There isn’t a person or circumstance in the world that is worth allowing it to rob you of your peace and joy!  Take it to God today and have victory!
