Your Pain Has Touched The Heart Of God

1 Chronicles 3:9
All these were David’s sons, besides the sons of the concubines, and Tamar was their sister.

As I read that verse this morning, I thought, hmmmmmmmmm, David had several daughters but the only one mentioned was Tamar. I have to believe that the reason Tamar’s name was mentioned when none of David’s other daughters were mentioned was because God saw her pain!

In 2 Samuel 13:19 we read, “And Tamar put ashes on her head and tore the long robe that she wore. And she laid her hand on her head and went away, crying aloud as she went.” Her step brother Amnon had defiled her (in modern day terminology ~ he raped her and then threw her out of his house) He stole the one thing from her that women had in that day; her virginity, which meant she would never be able to get married and have children! Her pain did not go unnoticed!

What pain are you facing today? Maybe it is something you are pretty much trying to deal with alone because you are too broken or ashamed to share it. It breaks my heart when the victim is the one who feels ashamed and broken and if it breaks my heart I can only begin to imagine how angry, frustrated and sad it must make God. Obviously it matters to Him or why would He have mentioned Tamar here in this verse. Tamar was only known for this, it isn’t like she was a Mom to a king or did any great things, she was broken and it touched the heart of God.

Please hear me today ~ your brokenness, your heartache and your pain have touched the heart of God! He loves you so much, every tear you have shed, every crack in your heart has touched the heart of God. Don’t feel that you are alone today, don’t feel as though you have to go it alone. God wants to mend your broken heart, He wants to hold you in His arms today to comfort you and He wants to get you to the point where He can give you the strength to set you back up on your feet so you can move forward. He wants to give you your joy back, remove the shame and brokenness, or your heartache and build you back up into all that He created you to be!

Don’t allow Satan to have victory today. Don’t allow him to hold you back by keeping you where you are in your pain! Take everything you have been through and give it to the one who truly cares and who can mend your heart and relieve you of the hurt and pain! Jesus wants to release you from the captivity of your hurt and pain, He wants to free you to be all you can be. He wants to use all that you have faced to help others.

As you go throughout your day today remember, your name, your face, your pain have not escaped God’s notice, it has touched His heart! He loves you and He will carry you through to the other side! Truly the best is yet to come!

Today’s devotional was undoubtedly meant for me. Just when I feel all hope is gone God sends a message of hope. Just to be reminded that He does want to hold me and carry me through the hurt and uncertainty that I am facing helps me keep going forward.
