A Good Day Doesn’t Come With A Crummy Attitude

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Do you ever wake up in the morning and know before your feet even hit the floor that your attitude is terrible! It may be your attitude about work, or the day ahead or your spouse or maybe it is your attitude about yourself? I have and those can turn into the days of utter defeat if you don’t grab that attitude before it jumps out of bed, showers and runs out the door ahead of you! I have found that the best thing I can do at that point is to lay flat on my face before I even attempt getting out of bed and ask God to “Create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me!” I love coffee, but all the coffee in the world isn’t going to straighten out a bad attitude!

Attitudes are heart issues! You may not have done anything wrong, but maybe someone else did or they said something and now it has affected your attitude! Your attitude is your choice! You can choose to have a good one or you can roll along with that bad one, but ultimately you ruin your own day with a bad attitude. As I have said before, no one can give you your attitude or take yours away ~ it’s all yours girl! Do you want to be known as someone who always walks around with a chip on their shoulder or do you want to be known as a woman of godly character?

Attitudes can be tough! Satan will lie and lie and lie to you to get you worked up or feeling worthless so you will have a bad attitude about it all! Don’t hand him that victory! Claim that territory back and ask God to give you His attitude and a clean heart about every situation you face! He is happy to guide you and fill you with His joy for your day!

Choose your attitude wisely today because an attitude always seems to come back around to bless you or bite you in the bum! You can’t achieve God’s best with a crummy attitude ~ trust Him and follow Him and the best is yet to come!

Quote:
I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me, or say about me, my circumstances, or my position…It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope. When my attitudes are right, there’s no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme, no challenge too great for me. ~Charles R. Swindoll

    Hello!

I emailed you on Sunday morning, about your post, they come to my email! I love your blog! It seems again, you hit the nail on the head for me this morning! Why am I surprised! I just want you to know, I wake up more mornings then not, with a ‘crummy attitude” but at that time, I believe the Holy Spirit reminds me, God can help me with this! I immediately say my Lord’s Prayer, and then open my iPhone up to a daily prayer book by Max Lucado and read my prayer for the day from his 40 days of Prayer booklet. By then I am ready to face the day, do my yoga stretching, get my lunch together and my son’s and face the day! I just love feeling that I am on the right track, by praying, when I am low! Thank you for “Chocolate and God!” I love your blogs! They help, tremendously!

    Peace and blessings to you!
