Proverbs 12:16
“The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult.”

If you truly want to be an empowered woman of God then you cannot allow every little thing to offend you! I have seen some people who get offended over every little thing; if they aren’t first, they are offended, if things aren’t worded just right, they get offended, it just doesn’t seem to matter what is said or done, everyone around them walk on eggshells all the time. Who has that kind of time and energy?

I learned a long time ago to not allow everything to offend me. I don’t have that kind of time or energy and it is really a pointless act. Usually when someone gets offended over everything it is because there is a deeper issue. If you struggle with being easily offended I would encourage you to dig deep and figure out what the real underlying hurt is that you haven’t dealt with. Another reason you may get offended easily is because you care too much about what others think or how you appear in someone else’s eyes. “Man looks on the outward appearance, God looks at the heart” and your heart is the only thing that really matters in the big scheme of things! (1 Samuel 16:7) Focus on who you are in Christ! You are royalty! You are a child of The King!

If you want to be used by God or you want God’s blessing on your life, you cannot run around allowing every little thing to upset you! You don’t have that kind of time! You have a choice every time someone else says or does something; you can either sit there and allow it to become a big deal or you can move on and, as the verse above says, “ignore it”! Let it roll off like water on a ducks back! Who cares? The only one who has anything to say about you and who you are is God. He is the one you are following, focus on Him and Him alone!

Being offended is a choice! You can choose to wallow in it or you can choose to set your focus on God and all that He has for you!
