God Still Wants to Work in and Through You

Genesis 17:1

When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord said to him, “I am God Almighty, walk before me, and be blameless, that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.”

Your time has not passed to be used by God, take a look at Abram.  God was just beginning to do great things in Abrams life and he was an old man!  Sarah had a baby when she was well past the years of child-bearing, but notice when God introduced Himself He said, “I am God Almighty” and later when He spoke to Him He said, “is anything too hard for the Lord?”

Why did God wait so long?  It’s hard to really say why God would wait until Abram was so old, but it could be that they had a lot to learn and God wanted them to be at a point in life where they were more workable than when they were young.  Have you ever played with clay?  When you first take clay out of the package it is hard and difficult to mold into much of anything but after it has been worked with for a while it becomes softer and more pliable, most of us are the same way; it takes all of the experiences in life that punch us down and squeeze us up to get us to the point where we are ready to be molded into something more useful.  It’s all of the experiences of life as well that grow us into stronger women of God and that teach us to be faithful and rely on Him.

Abraham’s faith did not just appear one night it took years of His getting to know God and seeing how faithful God was even when Abraham messed things up.

God wants to use you, He wants you to walk before Him and to be blameless so He can use and bless you!  Do your part today and grow in Him, take the time to learn more about who He is, stop for a minute and reflect on how God has shown Himself to be faithful in your life and the lives of those around you.  Ask Him to give you the strength to walk blameless before Him and to learn more about who He is and His plan for your life.  God loves you and wants to use you in a mighty way, don’t ever underestimate that because of either where you have been in life or how old or young you are – He is The Almighty God and Nothing is too hard for Him!

Thank you Janet for today’s posting. truly it has touch my inner man with encouragement to continue trust God and believe that God is not finished with me yet. I love Jeremiah 18 (the potter house); and remember….being confident of this very thing; he that have begun a good work in me…will finish until the day of Christ. Life truly does have its own seasons. Thank God for you. May he continue to bless you to be a blessing to others.

    Dear Janet,
What an awesome message – when you mention about Abraham having to learn that God was still faithful – even when he messed up — that really hit home with me! God bless you, really needed that message today! <3
