“I’ll Pray For You…..”

by | Mar 26, 2016

1 Samuel 12:23
Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you;

It is so easy to throw out the words, “I’ll pray for you” but the question is; do you pray after you say that or do you feel your work is done? It has become a comfortable thing for people to say that they will pray as Christians it “seems” like the right thing to say but if you aren’t going to pray then it would be better to keep quiet.

Prayer is really something that we often don’t take seriously enough and it is scary to wonder just how much we all miss out on either by not praying for ourselves or not praying for those we say we will pray for. It is a shame that “I’ll pray for you” is a phrase that is so easily tossed out there and yet rarely done.

I have tried to make a habit of stopping for a second and praying for someone if it isn’t someone that I am around all the time, right then and there so I don’t forget. On Facebook I try to keep tabs on those I say I will pray for to remind me to continue to pray for them. If it is someone close to me then every time they cross my mind I pray for what it is I said I would pray for. Do I need to get it together and take it more seriously than I even do now? YES I do! We can never take prayer too seriously, it is our opportunity to communicate with the God of the Universe for ourselves and on behalf of others, that is not a light thing!

Take the time today to maybe start a list of those people you have said you would pray for and for the areas in your life that need more prayer! Don’t allow this opportunity to slip away day after day! Get on your knees and ask God to reveal to you anyone and any areas you have neglected in prayer today and don’t waste another minute placing it all at His feet to take care of.
