The Other Side Of That Coin…..

Numbers 32:23b
“and be sure your sin will find you out.”

Well, here is the other side of the coin to yesterday’s Bible Study:

If you have been living a lie, or you have what you believe are “hidden sins” in your life, you must remember that God sees everything! If you are a child of God and you have been hiding your secret sins and living a double life, God will bring it all to light.

You cannot hide behind the fact that maybe the church won’t handle it right, or maybe you will lose your job or relationships. Not trying to be harsh, but unfortunately, you probably should have thought of that before. Satan has a way of making things look simple, tempting and easy to hide, but what he doesn’t tell you is that he really can’t wait to throw you under the bus and spit in God’s face. All of us have been in that position, where we have had to bear the consequences of our sins and mistakes, it is not easy, but God will see you through.

God’s grace and mercy is always readily available and He wants you to repent and to have the walk with Him that you are called to have. That cannot happen as long as their is unconfessed sin in your life! You don’t need to go running out into the street or shouting from the rooftops, declaring your sins, but you do need to make things right in relationships and take responsibility. If you ask God to forgive you of your sin, the Bible tells us in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Get things right with God and then ask Him for the strength to make things right with those you have sinned against as well. Find your freedom and healing in the truth! There is no healing if you are trying to hold it all inside! Your walk with God and His blessings will be hindered until you face it.

Sometimes we wonder why everything seems to be falling apart, or we wonder why we don’t have God’s blessing and sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes it is because of the open doors of Secret sins in our lives. If there are open doors because of a sin you struggle with that you refuse to seek help for, it often also shows up in the lives of our children. I am not talking about little, one time sins, I am talking about choosing a life style of sin. Paul’s writings in the New Testament are full of God’s disgust and discipline for sexually immoral sins and unfortunately they seem to be as rampant today in the Christian community as they ever were. God is not going to allow a secret sin to continue without doing something to get your attention, even if He has to reveal it Himself, because He wants a close relationship with you and that sin will build a wall the size of Texas in your heart!

Choose God’s mercy and grace today, I beg you! God so wants that close walk with you that He created you for! He can take those mistakes and He can use what you have been through to help someone else avoid the same mistakes or to help them see that they can have victory too. Don’t wait any longer, the best can be yet to come, but it is on the other side of that freedom from that sin you are struggling with! The only way to close that door is to get rid of that sin that is in the way!
