Exodus 2:25
And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them.

The children of Israel were “groaning’ under the oppression of the Egyptians. Somehow they had gone from living there when Joseph was second to Pharaoh to being their slaves. They were groaning because they had had more than they felt they could take, the king was killing their children and was being ruthless in his treatment of the Israelites as slaves.

How about you? Do you need God to “acknowledge” you today? Do you feel as though you have taken all you can take or you have fought as long as you can fight for that relationship with your spouse, or your child or maybe your finances or job? Don’t give up now, trust me I know some days can seem totally overwhelming but hang on and God will “acknowledge” you and all you are facing. He will give you the strength you need to face another day or He will bring all that He has promised to pass.

Sometimes the reason God waits is because we need to learn to persevere. Think about it for a moment; we live in a time where we are used to instant gratification. We get frustrated if our coffee maker is too slow or we have a long line at the grocery store or that fast food restaurant isn’t “instant”! Seriously? What does this next generation ever wait on, if we are impatient how patient will they be? As it says in James 1:2-3, My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

Persevere, God knows and He will come through for you. He will work out the details of your marriage, that child that is struggling, that job or your finances, whatever it is you are facing today, He knows. Trust Him, He knows what needs to happen and when it needs to happen. Ask God to give you the wisdom and strength to do all that you need to do. Maybe today just the word “persevere” seems overwhelming but, trust me, you need to “tie a knot in the end of your rope and hold on!”  The English Standard version of this verse says, “God looked upon the children of Israel and God knew.” He knew they were ready and that they couldn’t take any more of the Egyptians cruelty, it was time to move them into all that He had planned and promised. So, let me encourage you today to keep holding on because today could be your day, God knows and the best is yet to come.
