What’s Holding You Back

by | Feb 26, 2019

Galatians 5:22-23. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Against such things, there is no law.

How much of Him is showing in your everyday life?  You can figure it out quite simply by evaluating how much “fruit of the Spirit” is evident in all that you do.  In order to be filled with His Spirit, we much surrender ourselves to Him.  Don’t hold anything back, be open to His Will and way for your life!  If you would like more of His influence in your life then you must choose to spend more time with Him!

When it comes to serving God or following His lead do you have some “buts” that are standing in your way?  What are you telling yourself?  “I would love to serve at the church but _____________”   “I would love to go to that ladies Bible Study, but ________________”    I would love to spend more time reading God’s word but ______________” What “but” are you allowing to stop you from doing what God is asking you to do?

“If satan can’t convince you to be bad, he will make you busy!”  Are you so wrapped up in your children’s schedule that you don’t have time to do what you should be doing?  It is appalling the schedules that even small children have these days!  It is no wonder that even small children are overwhelmed, anxiety-ridden and even depressed because they don’t have time to just play and be a kid.  They need to get off their electronics and drop all of the crazy schedules, they will be ok if they aren’t involved in every sport available!  Balance is the key and teaching your children that putting God at the head of your schedule is an absolute must if you want success, is more important than anything else you can teach them.  God wants your time.

The more time you spend with Him the more of Him your life will reflect.  You become like those you spend the most time with.

Ask God today to show you any areas that you are holding on to that you need to let go of in order to be all that He created you to be!  Ask Him to fill you with love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  It is His desire for your life to reflect His presence, so pour your heart out to Him and ask Him to guide you into all that He has for you today!  The best is yet to come!

Absolutely loved your message…so true!!! I want to be more like the Lord, and the truth is that I have not been speding enough time with Him – and I am going to remove some of the “buts” in my life and make more time with Him…
Thank you <3 and God bless you!!!
