Matthew 14:22-27
Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came he was there alone, but the boat by this time was a long way from the land beaten by the waves for the wind was against them. And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear. but immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart, it is I. Do not be afraid.”

Sometimes that thing you are fearing the most is your answer to your storm. Are you afraid to step out in faith? Is there something that you have been struggling with for a while now and you are afraid of the option laid out in front of you because it scares you? Has it occurred to you that it could be Jesus? Sometimes we can’t clearly see the answer because of the raging storm so you need to ask Him if it is Him and if it is time for you to step out like Peter did in this story and trust Him to walk you through.

Life can be so crazy sometimes that it is hard to see because we are too close to the situation so in those instances there are times we need to rely on godly men and women around us to help us see the answers. In this story the thing the disciples feared even more than the storm they were in was their answer! Is that you? Is your answer standing before you and you are afraid of the outcome so you are holding back? Cry out to God and ask Him to give you confirmation and clarity for your situation and seek godly counsel. Ask trusted prayer partners to pray for you to make the right decision.

You know you can trust God with anything and everything you face. You know as it says in Jeremiah 29:11 that He has a plan for you to give you a hope and a future, so what is it that is holding you back exactly? Trust Him and take that step of faith, one day at a time, one step at a time – keep your eyes on Him and hold onto His promise to get you through. He is the God of all and nothing is too difficult for Him. I think sometimes the reason we don’t see as many miracles today is because we try to live in our pristine, perfect little worlds where nothing dramatic happens that might freak other people out and make them think we could be a little “religious” and it might make someone uncomfortable so we miss out on seeing God do miraculous things! Expect the unexpected today – look for the impossible to be done – ask God to do mighty things and believe that He will deliver you from your storm! God is always good and the best is yet to come!
